We have been in LaPorte for about 1 week now. We are still getting settled in. Paul started his job Monday and so far so good! When Paul gets home Burke smiles at him and blabbers. He gets so exctied to see him.
Burke and I have been busy unpacking and visiting.
Monday we went to John and Amanda's and played with the kids. Ava is something else. She rode in my car when we went to the post office and she said 'You need to clean your car' (I laughed...my car always needs to be cleaned.) Then she said there's stuff on the window followed by ' You want me to come to your house and help clean your car!' She was cracking me up :) I'm sure we will be spending many afternoons over there...
Tuesday we had lunch with my mom at the hospital and then hung out with my dad. It's nice being able to visit people during the day.

Burke update:
He has 2 bottom teeth and his 2 upper teeth are getting ready to break through any time. He is a good eater. About 2 weeks ago we tried giving him puffs. He hasn't very sure of them but ate them. Today when I gave him some he let them melt in his mouth and would open right up to get some more.
When Burke is on his stomach he scoots backwards and is trying to crawl by putting his butt up in the air and putting his legs underneath. He's trying :) I'm sure it won't be long.

House update

So our house has been for sale for a little over a week now and the activity on it has been good. We have had 4 families come through plus we had a open house on Sunday. Paul and I have been busy keeping the house clean and packing up random stuff we will need for our trip home to LaPorte on Wednesday. Tuesday night will be the last night at our first house (tear). I'm sure we will be making trips back to check on things and to get things we forgot. For now we are just enjoying our last days in Westfield...

N, M & B

Courtney, Nolan and Meredith spent last week with us. Court helped us get our house ready to sell; we are very thankful for that!
It was very very cold while they were here the coldest day was -12, so Nolan didn't get to play out in the snow much. We mainly stayed in. We did go on a couple shopping trips and went to the children's museum. We rented the movie 'Horton hears a Who' Nolan enjoyed that :) We had a fun time with them!

(Burke has 2 teeth now. 1st tooth Dec 12th, 2nd tooth Dec 31st)

House 'For Sale' in Westfield IN

Our house is officially For Sale as of Friday. Here are a few picts. The house really looks great. We've made a lot of improvements since we first moved in. The most recent one is new carpet through out the house. We are crossing our fingers that it will sell fast so that we can buy a house in LaPorte!

Pack it Up!!!!

2009 is already a life changing year for us. As some of you already know WE'RE MOVING HOME! We have been talking about it for a while now and a opportunity arose for Paul that we just couldn't pass up. Paul will start his new job at Nisource/Nipsco on Febuary 2nd as a 'Security Engineer' in their IT department. Burke and I are very proud of Paul!

We are in the mist of packaging our house up and will be moving the majority of our things home to LP this weekend. Our house will be listed as 'For Sale' of Wednesday next week. Things are happening very fast which is scary and exciting at the same time. It will be hard to leave our 1st house. We really like it here in Westfield; everything is at our finger tips. As hard as it will be it is well worth it to be closer to our families which is the whole reason we are moving home. We'll be living in LaPorte towards the end of January.

6 Months (26 wks)

12-19-08
Weight: 18 lbs 6 oz
Height: 25 1/4 inches

Burke is doing great! He is a very very happy baby. He is quite the talker especially in the mornings and evenings. If you laugh he will laugh. He loves it when we say the ABC's or count to him. His face lights right up. His favorite toy is probably his red hammer. When given a choice he always reaches for it. But he likes anything and everything that will fit in his mouth. He likes playing with his soothy binky but doesn't really ever use it. He just started dropping his toys off the edge of his high chair and then whimpers b/c they are all gone. It's a new game we'll be playing for a while :)
Burke is still a great at night. He typically goes to sleep b/t 7- 7:30 and sleeps for 10 hours (until 5am) then I put him in bed with us feed him and Burke and I go back to sleep until around 8. So he gets about 12 hours of sleep each night. I love waking up to him in between us!
He still loves to jump in his Johnny Jumper, and plays the piano on his activity center. He does great at sitting up. We play on the floor a lot. He has GREAT balance. He's very active during tummy time. He wiggles his way around. He doesn't roll over. Every time we think he's going to he catches himself. Like I said he has great balance.

He plays with toys in his high chair everyday. When we eat I put him in it so we can all be together at the table. Burke has tried bananas twice. I think he liked it. Slowly we'll introduce solid foods. He is still nursing which should be really interesting since he is teething now. We are planning on continuing nursing at least until he's 1. It's a great bonding time for us. He'll look up and smile at me like he's saying 'thanks mom'.

Burke is a definitely a daddy's boy. When Paul gets home from work Burke just watches and smiles at him. Then it's B & daddy time!

Burke is a very easy baby. He loves being in his baby k'tan or baby bjorn carriers. He loves being able to see everything that is going on. If something is within his reach look out because he'll try to get it. He's very talky like his daddy but we all expected that.
