Valentines Day!

We started off the day at Burke's preschool. Dane and I joined Burke around 10 when they were finishing up a story time. Burke was snack helper so we brought heart shaped jello and pink strawberry milk. The kids checked out their valentine goodies then it was playtime. Burke played with the dinos of course! Then clean up and they finished up with musical chairs. It was fun to see how Burke interacts at school. He's a really good listener there:). Next we had lunch with Mimi and Papa.

Instead of just Paul and I going out to dinner we decided to go to the Circus. We had such a fun time! Burke and Dane both LOVED it. Dane was pointing and clapping. I can't believe how much he liked it since he's only 1 1/2. Burke was sitting on the edge of his seat (literally) watching and smiling for the entire 2 hours! Burke and I rode an elephant!! I thought it was amazing. We were the first ones on so we were up front by her head and could touch her skin. The hair is prickly. You just don't get a the opportunity to ride on an elephantvery often so we had to do it. It was so worth it! When we were driving home Burke said his favorite part was when dad got him his gun (that makes noise and lights up) and all I could think about was the elephant ride:). Each year they have something new. This year they had the acrobat girls, clowns,jugglers, dog tricks, trampoline act,3 elephant act, 3 motorcycles in the cage ball riding around... Pony, elephant, and camel rides, hold a python, face painting I'm sure I'm leaving things out; there was so much! We had a great family Valentines day!

Christmas Program

Burke's 1st Christmas program at Preschool! They sang 6 songs and then had a Christmas story read to they followed by crafts and a visit from Santa! Burke wouldn't sing but he did ring the bells :) He did sing the songs for us at home the night before might of had stage fright! He still looked cute up there!

Christmas Trees

We cut our tree down again at Gus's tree farm. It was kinda weird going when there wasn't any snow on the ground. Burke picked out the the little skinny tree and really wanted to get it :) Dane cracked us up when he sat on the tree he thought it was a blast!

Only the top half of our tree was decorated and my 2 little monsters were still taking ornaments off. This year we bought the shatter proof ornaments otherwise there would have been a lot of broke glass ornaments again this year!

We helped decorate MiMi's tree and they made a snack too!

Santa Parade

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is the Santa Parade in LP. The parade is short but tons of people come out to watch it. Then Santa goes to his little Chalet so the kids can tell him what they'd like for Christmas.

This was the 2nd annual Richards candy making get together! Grandma GiGi would make this with her sisters and since she moved from Wisconsin back to LP I thought it would be fun to start up the tradition again. Last year we ended up with 4 flavors due to trial and error this year was a total success and we made 6 flavors!

Dane had a great check up. He reached or exceeded all the 1 year milestones!! I was so nervous about getting scolded for his weight.... I waited and waited and when he said the 10% he said Dane is consistant and is growing. I had nothing to worry about! And then the appt ended with 5 shots in his thighs:(.

Burke had a preschool open house Aug 31st to see his new classroom and meet his teachers!

He was so excited for his first day. He had an awesome day. He came home with a braclet he made and was taking about a new friend Brenden that he played with.

It was cold so I put a hat in his bag and ofcourse he put it on in the car so his hair looked all crazy when he finally took it off!

I think it's sinking it that he's going to be dropped off in a couple minutes.

Dane turned ONE !!

He's almost 19 pounds now. He started walking 2 weeks ago and now he's walking more than crawling. He's still really mellow. Dane is climbing on top of everything and moves things so he can climb higher. He LOVES climbing into baskets, tote buckets, or drawers and just sits in them. He's constantly climbing the stairs a gate isn't really working for us... This past week he started walking up the stairs and he can go down by himself. He's a quite baby but into everything! He'll try about anything. At this point he'd rather have regular food than baby food. He always eating Burke's snacks and drinking from his cups. I'd say his favorite food is cheese! and he loves drinking out of sippy cups or straws. Ohh and he has 6 teeth now.

Dane takes 2 naps on a normal day sleeping for about an hour or so. He goes to bed around 8 and we get up around 6:30. He's wearing 12 month clothes now. I know he's just a little guy. His 1 year check up is on Oct 4th! I'm trying to fatten him up before his check up:) I'm sure he's prob in the <5% for weight but he's healthy and that's all that matters :) I'll post his stats after his appointment.

On to the PARTY!

Last Saturday we had his birthday party. His theme was sock monkeys and 1's. Dane had a big party. Thank you to everyone that came to celebrate with us! He received all kinds of great gifts :)

Paul and Burke have gone to the driving range a Legacy Hills a couple times but this was Burke's first time actually going golfing!! He was so excited to ride in the golf cart :) They played 9 holes and I caught up them them on hole 7 so I could watch for a little bit too. Paul said Burke would hit a couple times at each hole. My boys love to golf!

LP Fair

We took the boys to the Fair one night after Paul got home from work. Burke LOVES seeing all the animals, playing the mouse game, and riding the rides. He really really wanted to go on the bumper cars but wasn't tall enough, maybe next year :)

Soccer Camp

In mid July Burke was a part of the British Challenger Soccer Camp! Unfortunately he got sick the day before it started and was running a high temp all week :( It was a bummer since the camp was only 1 week. So here are a couple picts day 1 he just watched, tues-thurs we stayed home, and finally on Friday he felt good enough to participate! It was really cute because his cousins Aiden and Addison were in the same group as him along with Brooklin (a & a's cousin) and my cousin's little boy Gavin.

Zoo

At the end of May we went to MC Zoo with Lisa, Ethan, Katie and Lyla. The kids had a lot of fun. I think feeding the birds was a highlight along with the train ride! After that we went for a drive to see the beach and they were doing safety demo with the fire department, ambulance, sheriff, swat, coast guard, and cpr. It was perfect timing for the kids to get to see everything up close!

We just got back from his appointment. Dr said he's growing and doing good. He reached the milestones that a 9 month old should. Things such as crawling, standing holding on,imitating, holding things w his thumb and index finger, making ma,da,ba sounds,playing peek a boo, banging toys... His next check up will be when he turns 1!!

(Here's what I typed up a month ago when he was 8 months and never did a post!) Dane is crawling now!! He also has his two bottom teeth!! He is saying ma ma, da da, and making the ba ba sounds. He loves puffs and has been eating them by himself for about a month now. He's trying a little bit of table food but mainly baby foods. He naps 2 sometimes 3 times a day. Dane is a easy, happy baby! He just goes with the flow and hardly ever cries.

Now that's Dane is 9 months things have changed a bit! In the last week he started 'cruising'. He is so fast. He just stands up at the table or couch and walks around it. He also learned to climb the stairs. I went up to check on Burke and started coming back down the stairs and Dane was on the 7th step. He always finds me!

When he's on the floor he entertains himself and if he's out of sight it because he crawled to the toy room. Dane likes blowing raspberries with his mouth and about 4 days ago he started clicking his tongue. (I took a video of him doing it. It's adorable!) He also mimicking things that we do to him. Oh and he thinks Burke is HILARIOUS!! One of the most precious things about having Burke and Dane sleeping in our room is that when they wake up and see each other they both have the biggest smiles on their faces.

Yesterday we celebrated Burke's birthday! The theme was Transformers of course and Aunt Heather made him a BumbleBee cake! He loved it and kept wanting to look at it:) It was suppose to thunder storm all day we got lucky because it ended up being a beautiful day! Burke was so luckily to celebrate with so much family and a couple close friends. He got a lot of fun toys such as a bronco rider (teeter totter) and new swings for is playset, transformer bike, transformers, Mater from cars, play dough tools, robot, clothes, swim trunks, books, He's a lucky boy!!

Hopefully more picts to come. I took about 250 yesterday that I need to sort through :)

Burke's 3 year check up

Burke's birthday is on Sunday June 19th!! We're having a family party for him on Saturday. He's really excited but I don't think he realizes it just in a couple days!

Yesterday he had his yearly check up.
Weight: 35 pounds 90% I was absolutely shocked by this
Height: 38 inches 75%
At 3 your suppose to be able to: jump w/ 2 feet, jump on 1 foot, count to 10, know your colors, dress and undress w/ little help, say your name when asked, and ride a tricycle. Burke was doing a lot of this stuff before he turned 2 so it was a piece of cake for him! He also got 1 shot. He was so big. He looked at me and asked if it would hurt. He took it like a champ not even 1 tear. He couldn't wait to tell Paul how good he did.

We're really looking forward to his party to celebrate Burke with our families!!

Burke is one month away from turning 3! We are preparing for his 'Transformer' themed party. I don't know who is more excited Burke or Paul. Burke LOVES transformers and he can tell you all about them. So when I asked him what kind of party he wanted there was no hesitation before saying Transformers!

Here are some random Burke picts from the last month.

At the driving range. Paul and Burke go to Lowes to the kids work shop on Saturday mornings a couple time a month.

Burke climbed inside this dog crate. We were amased that his whole body fit in there! He thought it was funny and asked Paul to carry him around in it.

Burke was in the Mini Muscle Men group at gymnastics a couple months ago. He LOVED going.

Mothers Day

A couple days before my mom and I always go to Perennials Galore greenhouse to get flowers to plant on Mothers Day. Last year Burke went and this year Dane joined too! Burke helped pick out flowers :)

On Sunday we went to breakfast with the Penziols at B & J's cafe and later that afternoon we went to my parents. We spent the day playing outside and planting flowers.

Easter

We celebrated Easter with the Penziol's on Saturday at John and Amanda's with a great brunch. The kids did a little egg hunt but mainly there were a lot of drum solos by the kids and Paul, John & Kevin :) We got a the 1st pict of all 8 cousins with Olivia the newest Penziol!

While the 'EasterBunny' was filling the baskets Dane helped himself to a Robin's egg!!

Sunday we had Easter at Matt and Court's in Lafayette. Burke said the Easter Bunny was going to bring him bakugan's and transformers in his basket so we could dissapoint :) The kids played out in the yard the majority of time we were there. Burke LOVED riding on the gator. I wish I would have recorded his laugh while they were on it. The kids had an egg hunt in their yard too.

Fair Oaks Dairy Farm

April 6th we went to the Dairy Farm with the Penziol cousins. We saw a baby calf be born, took a bus tour, saw the milking station, watched a 3D movie, visited the museum and had lunch there!

At his 6 month check up (a couple weeks ago...) he was doing everything he was suppose to! He's even sitting up w/o support which the Dr said he didn't expect to see until he was 7 months. He's still nursing and is eating baby food too. He's had bananas, pears, apples, mixed fruits, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, corn and I'm sure I'm missing some. He seems to like all of it! I think he's about ready for puffs since lately he's been grabbing food off my plate and trying to eat it :) Dane takes a couple naps a day some short and some long. We don't really follow any kind of schedule. When he's tired he sleeps and when he's hungry he eats! He's a good sleeper at night (as long as he's in our bed). He wakes a couple times to eat and goes back to sleep w/i minutes. Dane is a very mellow kid. We love to hear him squeal and giggle. He is reaching and grabbing for EVERYTHING. He likes his activity centers and johnny jumper. He doesn't have any teeth yet but I think he's working on it. He's chewing a lot so his raspberry teether is helping. We can't believe how fast he's growing and how different he looks every month! We're 1/2 way to his 1st birthday party.

Fun Flatables

My mom had Nolan and Meredith for the weekend (march 19th) so we took the kids to fun flatables in Merriville. The kids had a blast!! We played there for about 2 hours and they didn't want to leave. I can't wait to go again :)

The kids came back to my house to play for a bit and then Mimi took Nolan, Burke, and Meredith back to her house for a sleepover. I bet it was a night she'll never forget!

Burke had his 1st dental check up on Tuesday. He did FANTASTIC!!! Dr. Kat said she was really impressed and that Burke did better than most 3 and 4 year olds!! She showed him all the tools ahead of time and let him hold everything and try it out before she used anything on him. He sat in the chair all my himself while she cleaned and checked his teeth; all 20 of them!! Ohh and Burke was cavity free.
He picked out a 'Cars' tooth brush and couldn't wait to use it when we got home.

Dane is 5 months old today! Last night Dane tried baby food (pears) for the 1st time. He was a bit unsure of it! (Yesterday I took Dane in for a 5 month weight check and he's 14.9 lbs)

Circus

We went to the Circus at the Civic again this year. Burke was excited to ride on a pony. (He choose that over the elephant ride). He LOVED it and didn't want his turn to be over. I wish I could have gotten a picture of his huge smile while he was on it. Burke also enjoyed watching the jugglers :) Dane couldn't take his eyes off the girls doing acrobats spinning in the air. My fav part was when 4 guys from the audience had to mimic a clown doing dance moves. It was HILARIOUS!!

After the circus I went to BW's with Paul's fam. Wednesday nights they have a craft table set up for kids. The best part was they have someone to help the kids make the crafts plus they had lots of fun!!

Happy Valentines day!

Paul and I went out to dinner Thursday night to celebrate. It was just the 2 of us. First time we've done something w/o the kids in probably 5 or 6 months. It was really nice to have time to ourselves! Paul left for San Fran CA yesterday for work. We'll be counting the days til he gets back...

This year Burke picked out Transformer Valentines to send out. (He LOVES watching Transformers. His favorite is BumbleBee ofcourse!) We mailed his Valentines this year. I thought the kids would like getting their our mail! As I was writting out the envelopes Burke would pick out a special one for each person :)

Dane- 4 months

Dane had his check up last week. Everything was good! He got 2 shots and his big brother was there telling him it was ok :) Dane is a really good baby. He's very happy; he's giggling and squealing now. When he gets excited he puts his hands in his mouth. Burke likes playing with him and making him smile too. Dane likes grabbing for toys and taking his binky in and out of his mouth. He's sitting up with assistance. He's not rolling over yet but it should happen anytime!

Here are his 4 month stats: (the percentiles always really surprise me but whatever! Dr said he's not worried, that Dane is healthy!)

Potty Training!!

Tuesday morning Burke didn't want to put on a new diaper so I put underwear on him. (A couple people I know have done the 3 day potty training boot camp and it work for them. I knew it wouldn't be that easy for us since you have to stay glued to your child's side during these 3 days and not go anywhere. That's pretty hard to do when you have a nursing 4 month old to take care of too!) So I put all his diapers in the garage and told him I threw them away. Day 1 we went through maybe 6 pairs of underwear. He did great. I didn't think I could do it, I figured I'd give in and just put a diaper on him especially since Wednesday we had Dane's check and my niece Rylee's 1st basketball game to go to. So we were getting ready for to leave for the Dr and I tried putting a pull up on him. Burke said 'not that kind'. Of course he wanted to only wear big boy underwear. So I packed a separate bag with multiple changes of clothes. I was just hoping that Burke could hold it while we were in the car.... and he did great. Day 2- only 2 pairs of underwear. Here we are on day 3!!! I'm amazed at how well he's doing. We still have to keep a close eye on him and constantly ask him if he has to go. It's so cute to see him in his underwear and boy will it be nice not having to buy diapers for him anymore :) We're so proud of our big boy!!!

Florida (part 1)

I have so so so many pictures to update with. Plus Dane just turned 4 months yesterday and his check up is tomorrow. I'll post his update tomorrow! Today is day 1 of potty training with Burke. He's doing really well :) I thought I would have given in by now and just put a diaper back on him. Right now he's taking a nap on our bed; luckily he's sleeping on Paul's side!! Hopefully he'll wake up dry :)

These are from Christmas day. We got Burke a drum set and basketball hoop. I know DRUMS!! best worst gift a parent can buy for their own child. Honestly though it hasn't been to bad. The toy room door is closed is he's rocking out :)

Christmas cookies & Hard Candy

This year we made a lot of cookies! Burke was a big helper. He loved pouring things into the bowl. We made cookies with Lisa and Katie one day and John, Amanda and the kids came over another day to make cut outs.

Grandma Richards use to make a hard candy with her sister each year around Christmas and hasn't made it in a long time so I thought it would be fun to get the aunts and cousins together to make it with Grandma GG. We all had a lot of fun! Only 2 of the 9 got burns on their hands :)

Catching up

We had really nice Christmas with everyone. I think we celebrated 4 or 5 times this year. We had a little party at our house Christmas Eve, my parents stayed the night and Burke opened gifts in the morning. Grandma GG came over for breakfast. Then we headed over to Laurie and Jeff to celebrate with the Penziol's, then to the Erne's to see all of my mom's side of the Fam. Matt and Court and the kids came that evening and stayed at our house. Sunday morning we celebrated again with them. We had a very busy couple of days! Burke and Dane received tons of cool stuff. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!

Now were in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. We left Wednesday night drove until we got into Florida got a hotel and continued the drive Friday morning.(The boys did really well. Dane slept majority of the time and Burke watched DVD's.) My cousin Rich plays at the S.O.B for New Years Eve each year so we went and saw him. The weather here was been beautiful in the mid 70's. Our first day we saw dolphins from our balcony. We've been relaxing by the pool and enjoying the views. Dane went swimming for the first time. He liked the water. Yesterday we took the boys to the beach. Burke played in the sand and found shells. Today Paul and my dad are out golfing (again) when they get back we're going to the marina to see manatees. We have a couple more days here until we made the 23 hour drive home.

I've taken about 400 pictures since the week of Christmas but I don't have the right connection to upload them to the computer :( Hopefully we can figure something out b/c I'm way behind on my posts!

We went to Guse's again to cut down our tree. We really like it there. We drove out in the field to find our tree then came back to the building and went for a carriage ride and then sat inside and had some popcorn. Burke loves their popcorn : D I think this is our place!

Dane just had his check up yesterday. He met all his milestones! He's cooing, following objects with his eyes and started smiling.

His next appt will be when he's 4 months old. By then he should be giggling and squeling, turning his head to follow objects, rolling over, and grasping toys.

We woke up saturday morning and went right outside to play! Burke couldn't wait to get ready to go out. Paul and Burke had a snow ball fight and built a mini snowman. Paul was gone the 1st week in November for a certification class and he came home with some presents for Burke. He got him train tracks for his table, a new toy trunk and the racing rug. Burke was so excited that Paul was home so he wouldn't take a nap. Instead he laid on his rug with his tractor.

This year we trick-or-treated in our neighborhood. We had a rough started but Burke ended up liking it once he saw all the candy he was getting in his bucket. (We had to wake Burke up from his nap to go). He loved passing out the candy. He'd say ' someone wants this one' and would hold on to it until another kid came up!

Yesterday Paul golfed in an local tournament with my dad and he got a hole in 1! He said you can't see the green from the tee box so they didn't know until they went looking for their balls and one of the guys yelled 'There's a ball in the hole!' He was super excited so I thought I'd share his good news :)

Today Dane is 6 weeks old! He's following objects with his eyes and rubbing his eyes with his hands. He's just starting to make noises when you talk to him. Dane's awake a lot more during the day and sleeps good at night.

Burke has slept in his Big Boy car bed for the last 2 weeks!! We put his bed next to ours to slowly make the transition out of our bed. He started watching cartoons in his bed and would stay in there when it was time to go to sleep. Burke moved out of our bed just in time for Dane to move in! You'd think we would learn the 1st time...

Dane has been doing really well. He's still sleeping about 16 hours a day. He wakes up 2-3 times at night to feed. He sleeps in the swing, pack-n-play, bouncey chair, our bed, and on me! He's doing really well with nursing. I love when he's eating and stops to smile. It's the best!! He likes being in carriers; it puts him right to sleep. He's a very content baby.

His 1 month chech up is this week. I can't wait to see how much he's grown! I bet he's close to 9 pounds now. I just started putting him in 0-3 month clothes but his newborn onsies still fit.

We went to Guse's again this year to pick pumpkins. Burke picked out a pumpkin for himself and one for Dane. Next weekend we plan on craving them. I wonder if Burke will help this year?!

Burke wanted to hold Dane and after a couple minutes Dane started crying. I said I needed to feed Dane and Burke said he would. He proceeded to lift his shirt and said 'eat Dane'!

Burke has become such a daddy's boy lately. He wants to do everything with daddy. On Paul's 1st day back to work after having Dane Burke carried around a picture of Paul!

When I took Dane to his check up Paul and Burke went to the driving range. I can't wait until Paul, Burke and Dane can all go together :)

Yesterday Dane was 2 weeks old. The Dr said he should be back at his birth weight by this time so I took him in to be weighed. He was 8.95 pounds!! He went from the 23% to the 42%. He's getting big so fast. He's been a great sleeper. He typically goes to sleep around 7 or 8 and wakes around 12 to eat and again around 4. So far he's been making it easy for us!

Wednesday Dane had his 5 day check up. It went very well. He gained back 2 oz that he lost after birth.

Weight: 7.14 lbs 23% Height: 20 1/2 in 23% Head: 14 cm 21%

He's been a really really good baby! Plus I think it's a lot easier the 2nd time around because we knew what to expect. The first days in the hospital everything woke him up and now he sleeps through all kinds of noises.

I am breastfeeding him! Luckily Dane caught on really fast. Paul and I both believe that it's an important thing to do. It's really nice that he's so supportive of it :)

As for big brother Burke... He's been doing great! He loves Dane. Before touching him he'll say ' I want to touch his feet' or 'I want to kiss on his head'. He's surprisingly gentle about it. When we talk about the people we love he'll say ' I love Dane first'. Burke makes sure that Dane always has his blanket and hat.
He hasn't adjusted to other people holding Dane. He'll say ' No mommy hold him' or 'daddy hold him'

He also thinks that Dane should sleep in our bed too! I'm hoping to get a bassinet or co-sleeper so he can sleep right next to us. The last couple nights Dane's slept in the swing in our room. When Burke isn't paying attention I'll put Dane in the crib. He'll sleep about anywhere!

Paul has been off all week!! It has been a huge help to have him here. I'm sure it's made it a bit easier for Burke to adjust to the changes too. Paul's been taking care of Burke and buddy so that I can rest and take care of Dane.

Dane Avery Penziol

Dane was just born at 8:41pm tonight. He is 8 lbs 2oz. The cord was wrapped around his neck twice. Not to worry though, everything was fine. Laurie only pushed for 12 minutes. She was trooper. Thanks for everyone's support and prayers. We can't wait for everyone to meet him.

At the hospital

Laurie and I are at the hospital now ready for baby number 2 to arrive. Laurie had her usual non-stress test this morning and wasn't dilated to much. After she came home for a few hours, she started having some really bad contractions. We tried to wait the contractions out for a while and headed to the hospital at about 4:00. She was dilated to 6 when we got there. Right now, Laurie is 100% effaced and dilated to 8cm. So, it should be anytime now. I'll post some pictures later.

So this morning I thought today was going to be the day! My contractions kept keeping me up and finally at 2:45am I decided to stay up for a bit. My contractions were 4-5 minutes apart for an hour then tapered off to every 10 minutes for the next hour. I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions for the last 2 weeks but this felt different. It was a false alarm ofcourse. I went back to sleep around 5. I've still been having them just not as many. My actual due date is 10/01/10 which I'm kind of shooting for just because I think the date is cool :)
My 39 week check up is Friday morning. I'll update again then!

Saturday we went to the Sunflower festival in downtown LP. I was very suprised at how interested Burke was in seeing the cars that were displayed. We walked around for a bit and Burke rode on the kiddie ride. We went out to Garwoods for the apple fest after that but got rained out.

Sunday Paul went golfing with my Dad and Bro. Then we meet some friends for dinner and came back and watched the Colts game. Burke stayed the night with my parents. It was nice to have a little quite time :)

37 weeks

Monday the 13th I had my check up. I measure at 38 weeks and am 2 cm dialated. I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions for the last week or so. It's hard to believe that the baby could arrive at any time now :)
As for the babies name... Paul picked the name out a long time ago and I've been back and forth about it but I was the same way when he picked the name Burke. It's so hard to pick a name that you'll still like 50 years from now. Such a hard decision!
We've been cleaning and rearranging the house for the past couple of weeks. I think we have everything ready. I have my bag packed for the hospital and Burke's over night bag is ready too! Now we just have to wait until he's ready to arrive :)

Last night I went to dinner with some friends and family for a celebration of baby boy #2! I had a nice night out and recieved some really cute things. Thank you so much!!

Labor Day weekend

36 weeks preggo! Friday morning I had a check up to make sure I could make the 4 hour trip to Brown Co. with the Penziol Family. I was given the go ahead so we packed the car and headed down to Indy to split up the drive.

Saturday we continued our drive and walked around Nashville and checked into our lodge Saturday afternoon. Below is the room we slept in with our private bath. The kids had lots of fun in the hot tub :)

Sunday morning we went to Monroe Dam and Paul and Burke did a little fishing. Paul caught a little one and Burke touched it. He kept saying how he didn't catch a fishy on his fishing pole.

We played at the park right by the dam for a little bit before heading back to the cabin.

Boat, Music fest, and water slide

2 weekends ago we went with John, Amanda and the kids on the boat. It was a beautiful day :) Its so relaxing out on the water. They found a nice little beach that the kids played on and splashed in the water for a bit.

After the boat ride Burke took a nap and then we went to the park to listen to some bands play.

Then on Sunday we went to Laurie and Jeff's house to play outside and have dinner. The kids have so much fun on the waterslide!

August 15th Burke and I went with my parents to the annual pancake breakfast at LP airport. Burke was fasinated by all the planes. Mimi took a Helicopter ride. Burke said 'Mimi goes really fast in the sky!'

August Birthday Parties!

Ava 5, Aiden 3, and Addison 3 had their birthday parties at Platinum Gymnastics! All of the kids (and adults) had a lot of fun. They all loved it and we're exhausted afterwards ;)

Ethans 2nd birthday party was the following weekend! They had a bounce house set up in the basement. It was a big hit :)

. At the begining of the summer Burke hated the sand and now he loves it!

Swimming at Aunt Jenny and Uncle Jim's house. Rylee and Reghan went with us last week.

In the last month Burke has been swimming on his own with floaties and a vest on. He'll even go off the diving board and swim in the deep end. He likes doing things on his own. I'm so proud of him!

JACK JOHNSON!!

On July 23rd Paul and I went to Indy to see Jack Johnson!! We left early in the morning and meet up with some guys he used to work with for lunch, went to Clay Terrace Mall, drove by our old house in Westfield, went to another mall, went to see a movie and finished up the day with the concert at the Verizon Wireless Center. Jack and G-Love were doing a pre-show right when you went through the gate. We were really suprised. The bottom picture (is a borrowed pictured) from that. The show was really good. It was at 7 pm and it was still super super hot out plus being preggo was a little rough but Paul and I had a really nice day :)
My mom watched Burke that day. They went to the Fair to see all the animal again. He even stayed the night there. Burke gave Paul and I the biggest, longest hugs when he saw us the next morning. My mom had some funny stories to tell about our busy boy while we were gone!

LP Fair

Burke was talking about all the animals he'd see at the fair for about a month before we went! He especially loved the 'really really big horses'.(unfortunately by camera didn't have much battery left so I didn't get many pictures that day). Burke went on his 1st carousel ride, played the duck game and went fishing. They didn't catch anything though :(

3rd Trimester

We're in the 3rd trimester now almost 29 weeks! Besides waking up alot and not sleeping well things are still going really good. Now I'll be going to the doctor every 2 weeks now. My belly is measuring about a week ahead of schedule and I've gained about 12 pounds so far. It's hard to believe how much more my belly will be expanding over the next 2 1/2 months.

Saturday I took Burke to a mommy and me gymnastics class. He was a bit timid at first but ended up loving it! It's a 30 minute class where the run, jump, skip around the circle then do summer sults, the crab walk, and wheel barrow then practice on the bars followed up by jumping on the trampoline. What kid wouldn't love that :) We're going to try to fit a 6 week session in before baby brother comes along!

Mimi and Papa stopped by in the afternoon and Burke went on a little motorcyle ride.

We finished out the weekend by having all the Penziol's plus my parents over for pizza and smores! It was so nice to have everyone together. We spent the evening outside while all the kids played and relaxed by the fire. (Here's a pict of Burke eating his smore! I wasn't sure if everyone else would want their pictures posted)

4th of July Parade

Sunday we went to the LP Parade. It was a really hot day; luckily we were in the shade. Burke had fun! He loved seeing all of the fire and military trucks and tractors. He got really excited about the horses. He mostly sat in the wagon until he saw they were giving out candy :) Then he moved closer to Nolan and Meredith by the street so he could get some too! Hard to believe next year we'll be taking 2 kids to the parade!!

2 yr check up

Yesterday Burke had his 2 year check up. Dr. Moustafa said he's at a 3 year old level !!! He's such a talker and constantly suprises us. He recently learned his shapes; he can say them and point to them. He's known his colors, and body parts for a couple months now. Our guess is that he knows a couple hundred words and he's suppose to know 50 :) He loves to read books, do puzzles and flash cards. Were so proud of him!! Burke wants to spend all of his time outside hitting golf balls, playing baseball or riding his bike. (he's been peddling on his own for about 2 months now).
Stats: weight: 28.4lbs 52% height: 34 1/4 in 43% and his head is in th 90% to hold of those brains!!
This video was taken yesterday. He said he wanted to play baseball outside.

Burke turned 2 yesterday on June 19th!! We had a family birthday party for him last weekend on June 13th. Our little guy got some great gifts. We got him a set of golf clubs. He absolutley loves hitting balls in the yard with Paul. We just took them in to be sized for him. He's going to be a great golfer :) Burke also recieved a sandbox, a horse tire swing, clothes, and lots of outside toys. Burke loves it all!

Last night on Burkes actual Birthday we went to our friends Jeff and Jen's wedding. Burke was very well behaved as usual!!

We sold the BUG!! The new owner picked it up yesterday. It was bitter sweet. I had to get a couple pictures of Burke in it! I loved that car but we out grew it. We replaced it with a white Honda Pilot. Now we have plenty of room for all of Burkes and the babys things.

So I'm 16 weeks ago now and last night I definitely felt the baby moving around. I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks, heard the heart beat at 13 weeks (heart rate was 155) but now that I can feel that little boy or girl moving around it feels more real that baby # 2 is on the way.
I switched Dr's. Now I'm seeing a new Dr that just came to LP. His name is Dr Elshoreya. My next appt is on Monday the 26th. Then we'll schedule the 20 week ultrasound to find out what we're having. That appt will be in the middle of May. In case you're wondering we'll share the gender but not the names!

This is what happened when I updated the blog and stalked others yesterday!! I should have known when Burke was being so quite. Burke got into the spice cabinet and used the cream of tarter to decorate the livingroom. He had a trail of white powder all over the livingroom and dinningroom plus he got the furniture too. So if I learned my lesson I'll only update when he's sleeping :)

Michael Buble

Paul and I went to the Michael Buble concert in March. The concert was REALLY good. Naturally 7 performed first for about an hour. They are an a cappellla group. Michael Buble performed for about 1 1/2 hours. He was really entertaining. We had great tickets. It was a nice night out!

Yo Gabba Live

This morning we drove to Ft Wayne to see Yo Gabba Live Party in my City! Burke was a bit tired from the 2 hour drive there but he still enjoyed the show. He got his second wind when they gave ballons out :) Biz Markie was the guest star to do 'Biz's Beat of the Day' and the Aquabats performed! He was pretty quiet taking everything in but in the car after his quick nap he was saying Gabba and naming the characters while checking out his souvenirs.

Burke has some new quirks! He loves his blanket and carries it around with him. He was sick a couple weeks ago and found a binky so we let him have it for a week. Burke never used a binky so we didn't want him to get to used to it. He looked so darn cute with it though! When we took it away he started sucking on his bottom lip. Hopefully this won't last long. He has 4 teeth that recently broke through. I think that the binky and lip sucking have a lot to do with his teeth bothing him.

Burke is so smart!!! He loves reading and doing flash cards. It's amazing to us that he knows what's on each picture. His new word that he says all the time is 'my turn' and recently he says 'ohh' before he says what he wants or sees. He is constantly suprising us with what he can do and say :)

Circus!

We took Burke to the Circus (at the Civic) on Tuesday. I was excited that he got to ride on the pony. I wasn't sure how he would do but he liked it!!. He held on with both hands and smiled as we went round and round. He loved seeing the animals :) The show was about 2 hours Burke was very tired by the end. I'm sure he'll enjoy it even more next year!

Playdate with Grandma Penziol

Grandma took all 6 grandkids out for Valentines day. We went to BK for lunch and played in the playland. Burke is too little but with the help of cousin Rylee Burke was able to play in it too! After that we went to the school to play in the gym. All the kids got dodge balls to play with. I picked green for Burke and he knew that one was his. He only played with his and loved it! The kids all had a lot of fun and were exhausted at the end. Thanks for a fun playdate Grandma!!

A visit from Jace

Last week my cousin Greg & Amy Tonagels son came over to play. Jace liked riding on the powerwheels tractor. They boys did the usual things. They played in the toy room, had snacks, rode bikes, and danced to Yo Gabba Gabba. I'm glad Aunt Kathy (his grandma) brought him over. They don't see eachother much since they live in Marion. We enjoyed the playdate and we hope to have another one soon!
